ABOUT SABDA

SABDA is a unit of Sri Aurobindo Ashram Trust. It distributes the Sri Aurobindo Ashram and related publications to centres and booksellers all over India and abroad. Books can also be ordered directly by individuals through our Mail Order Service.

Our publications consist of works by the philosopher and visionary Sri Aurobindo and his spiritual collaborator known as the Mother, in over 15 languages. There are also many books written by eminent scholars on the life and teachings of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother. Topics covered include philosophy, yoga, spirituality, sociology, Indian tradition, education, psychology, and literature. Click here for more information on the writings of Sri Aurobindo.

This website lists titles and prices (in Indian rupees) of the books published by Sri Aurobindo Ashram and sold by SABDA. Some books published by other publishers on the life and works of Sri Aurobindo have also been included here considering their academic value although Sri Aurobindo Ashram may not necessarily endorse all the views expressed in these books.

The titles are generally arranged in four main sections: Works of Sri Aurobindo, Works of the Mother, Compilations from the Works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, and Works of Other Authors. Under each main section, books are further arranged broadly according to subject.

At present, catalogues in seventeen languages are available on this site: English, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Slovak, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Oriya, Marathi, Malayalam, Sanskrit, Telugu and Tamil. Use of all facilities and services on SABDA's website implies the acceptance of the following terms and conditions:

Delivery & Shipping

Transit times indicated on our website are approximate. Though SABDA makes shipments as fast as possible, an explicit maximum delivery time is not stipulated for any shipment method, as postal/courier transit times are inherently variable. The Post Office itself does not maintain an upper limit for transit time.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

SABDA does not accept cancellations of orders once paid for, nor returns of any goods except where received in damaged or defective condition and where evidence of the damage is provided within five days of receipt of the goods. In such cases the damaged/defective goods will be replaced free of cost. The option of a full refund with return of the damaged/defective books is also available.

SABDA guarantees delivery of goods as ordered and will re-ship free of cost any goods conclusively established as lost in transit and not delivered to the addressee. The option of a full refund against such non-delivered orders is also available.

Privacy Policy

All personal data collected by SABDA during placement of orders or subscription to SABDA eNews is intended to be used solely for the purposes for which the data is submitted and is not shared with any third party without the consent of the owner of the data. However SABDA reserves the right to send occasional informational material to customers as per its discretion.
