Largely a compilation from the works of Sri Aurobindo and the Mother, this book adds extracts from scientific journals and other publications in its discussion of the subject. The first two sections provide backgrounds in the field of Science, presenting different scientific theories and the philosophic implications of the discoveries of modern physics, and in the field of Spirituality from Sri Aurobindo’s and the Mother’s teachings on the essence of Knowledge and the evolution of the spiritual being. Sections three and four present views on the nature of subjective and objective knowledge and some critical appraisals on the scientific and the spiritual approaches to knowledge and perfection. The last two sections deal with future possibilities for a synthesis of these approaches in the face of the problems facing humanity and the certitude of a new consciousness that will light the way towards the future envisioned by Sri Aurobindo.
